Taking it Easy in Derby

Grace and I have been relaxing this week, tomorrow we are going for her first bus ride into Derby! Going to do a little of retail therapy and get out of the house for a bit. Her daddy will be home from work tomorrow night so can't do too much damage at the stores.

Talked to Poppa T yesterday and he is looking forward to our arrival on Monday. I think he'll be on a flight over on Tuesday if we aren't home:)

I have been 'not so good' in keeping this updated while in Britain- because there is so much stuff to do!! I went to Paris at the end of February for a few days- was sick the first so slept mostly, then went to several churches and the Eiffel Tower the

next day, and on the last I went to a huge cemetery- Pere Lachaise, Sacre Coeur for mass, and the Cathedral of Notre Dame. It was loads of fun but I was ready to come home- I missed my Gracie... who did very well for her dad and grandma while I was away (I do believe though that Grandma Ski should get most of the credit:)

In order to complete the order sent by my sister through a text message, here are some requested pictures of Gracie in her first ever trip to the UK. She has been eating loads of new stuff like cottage pie and spaghetti bolognase. We have just returned from visiting her great grandparents in Cornwall. She was on her best behaviour and barely had to be put in the playpen.

We have had an awesome three weeks and this week will be the last before flying back home on the 16th. The plan is to relax in Derby and visit more family and friends so she can coo and smile to everyone:) I know everyone back home is awaiting our arrivial, and it will be soon so don't worry lol

We made it!!

Sorry for not posting sooner since we arrived in the UK but Grace and I have been getting on a new sleep schedule which is a bit chaotic. The flights went smoothly from Nashville- we got loads of help from strangers (however they tore her carseat cover after Auntie Kim had ripped the zipper:) and especially a nice lady in Philiadelphia who made sure we got a cart after getting on the shuttle bus. Grace was awesome her first time flying! The minor 2 hour flight to Philly she played all the time with the "baby in the window" and her toys. Then on the 7 hour flight to Manchester she slept the whole time except for the last 20 minutes. I am so proud:) But it did mean that I didn't use 3/4 of the stuff i carried on the plane.

She is eating and adjusting pretty well- just wants to look around at everything all the time and soak it in. We just returned from walking to the supermarket and of course she had to fall asleep in the stroller. Weather is pretty good as of now, bright and sunny today which is not what you expect out of merry ole England:) I have gotten some pretty cute pictures but forgot my camera cord at home so don't know if i'll be able to post any photos. Off to now drink some tea and pack for Paris while Gracie remains in the comforts of her stroller!

Ice Storm 2009

Grace and I returned home Wednesday to start packing for Grandma and Grandpa's. The farm had electricity on Tuesday, after a full two weeks without it. Nothing major, except damage to my car, effected the house and we are all now comfortably warm and watching tv. I've included some pictures from the ice storm (after I found my camera in Grace's room, after days of searching).. still limbs everywhere but we can all get around pretty well. And the FEMA meals we had left over were absolutely delicious:) Also Grace has learned to blow raspberries and hates it when someone else tries to do it with her. She'll puff out her chest and scream at you:)
